Being active in our community is a big part of what it means to be a Boy Scout.
Adopt-A-Highway Some of the ways Troop 845 helps out is by being a member of both the Virginia Adopt-A-Highway program as well as the Chesterfield County Adopt-A-Spot program. Our job is to pick up trash and litter in the Arch Rd area and bag it for pickup.
County School Board We also participate on a regular bases in the Chesterfield County school board meetings by performing their flag ceremonies. If you watch carefully you might catch us on their TV broadcast.
Eagle Scout Projects Our many eagle scouts have done a number of large scale community-oriented projects. From organizing projects at local parks, community centers, and churches - hundreds of hours of volunteer work have gone towards improving our community.
Scouting for Food The scouting for food program brings in around a third of all donations to our local food banks. The food banks provide food for the homeless and needy in our community.
